Freehold Query

Hello - we bought our maisonette 18months ago with the freehold and the landlord still hasn't instructed his solicitors to transfer the freehold despite our names being confirmed at the land registry. It has come to a point now that we would like to sell but we don't officially have the freehold yet to sell with it. My solicitor has advised we say the landlord is missing to get it transferred that way but I am reading that this will take over the year?! Should we still be able to sell in this position?

When your solicitor acted for you in the purchase of your maisonette, did that include the conveyancing for the purchase of the freehold too? If so, you should contact your previous solicitor and ask them why the freehold has still not been transferred to you after all this time.
I am not sure why a solicitor would advise you to say the landlord is missing, when clearly that is incorrect.0
