OVO Energy closing account issues

I moved out of my house at the end of April this year, submitted final meter readings to OVO Energy the same day then got a final statement in my account a few weeks later. It said I was around £20 in debit so I paid it and presumed it was closed.
Since then every week they have sent me a new ‘final statement’. Sometimes my account is in credit and I have received 4 refunds now varying between 10p and £5. Sometimes it is ‘in debit’ and when that happens I’m contacted by them demanding I make immediate payments or they will report to a debt collection agency and credit referencing agencies.

I’ve called a few times but no one can give me a straight answer and I just want the account closed. Has anyone had a similar experience or can they recommend where to take this further?
