EDF Direct Debit Increase to £2,946

Hi we were moved from Green Network Energy to EDF & they have recently increased my monthly direct debit from £131 to £2,946. I certainly don't live in a mansion. I am still waiting for EDF & a reasonable amount  to be arranged. I certainly don't use the amount of electricity to warrant such an increase. The increase seems ridiculous. If this goes ahead I will have to cancel the new direct debit before it's taken out. Just wondering if anyone may also have moved to EDF from GNE  & having such problems.

Thx

Look very closely at the meter readings you have been giving them -  many meters can be difficult to read - look out for the decimal point.

Read your meter NOW and give us  details.

I assume you do read your meters at least monthly don't you ?

PS Post a photo of your meter please.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

This sort of situation usually occurs for one of two reasons:
    1) Meter's been read wrong.
    2) No readings have ever been given, so previous billing was well under reality and now an actual reading has surfaced it generates a catch-up amount.
