Morning, hugs if you need one. Good idea Gers re the pictures.
Well yesterday was spent indoors, fan on all day, occasional quick visits to the garden to hang out laundry, collect it in and later to pick raspberries. This morning it is 5 degrees cooler and cloudy. We did not get the rain either although other places did. DB said he could hear thunder when he was picking. I have a feeling the sun may show its face later, but I am glad of the respite from the heat. Have the windows and doors open to get some fresh air into the house.
Coffee morning at the little chapel this morning, we will wander round, both of us have 'clothes on' if you know what I mean....usually we are in skirt and tee shirt (me) shorts and tee shirt (DB)
I need to do a freezer dive for something for supper, might get mince out and do spag bol.

Morning all
Already a scorcher here, all doors and windows open to try and get a bit of a breeze. today is the end of out isolation and it feels so nice to be able to go out !
I am taking mum to drop her car off for its mot later and from there i shall go round to pick up my sister who still cant drive since her accident and is bored to tears at home, we will come back here and have some lunch and I will run her back later, nothing exciting but it will be nice to see some different people !
I did some gardening yesterday only in 10 min blasts as it was too hot to stay out there long, but my water lilly has a flower on it, its so beautiful, the trough pond is so lovely and the birds often have a bath in it, its lovely to see them, the dogs also drink from it and Im sure more wildlife use it for a drink so it serves purpose as well a looking good
Right better get on, have good days and stay cool and hydrated ! xxx12 -
Hi, I’m new to this group, glad I found you.I’ve been through hell and back with work issues currently but as things looking like some resolution on the horizon I’m able to start looking hard at other areas in my life.Today day one of going back to basics, starting to sort a messy house, weedy garden, decluttering, sell what we can and try to only buy what we need. Then redecorating needed badly and some new large items like Gas boiler, beds, settee, oven. Some debts to sort. Making do with the hobby stuff I have (a lot)
I think about my grandmothers for inspiration who lived through the war and made do for most of their lives. They grew their own food, crafted their own clothes and had a pretty good life on modest incomes. So today, day one and I hope to report daily on progress or not.I’m out to do some gardening first.Today’s top tip from me! Washed my grandchildren’s clothes on Monday whilst childminding. One of the white tops after machine washing 30c had tomato stains in it. I soaked in vinegar, then rinsed and hung out in the sun to dry. The stains magically disappeared!11 -

Gers if they are small knives and you have block paving they are very useful for winkling weeds out from between the stones
Rolorich good luck with the clean up and welcome
Dumpling hope your sister is doing well
Ruby Happy freedom day

Morning all, I'm bringing up the rear again ! This heat is really starting to get me down now and I have no energy to do anything. apparently we've still got an amber warning for heat hanging over us again today. The sun I love but not these high temperatures and yesterday our table top fan died Well one of the fins broke so today Mr Fix It will go for his daily constitutional to the shed and back ( that's as far as he able to go at present ) and take the fan with him, whether he has the energy to fix it or even try will be anyone's guess. We have another we can use downstairs for now as the large one is being used in the bedroom to help us sleep, not that it's helping me much, I'm shattered. We had a lovely time with the DGC yesterday who have eaten me out of house and home, even our DGD is in on the act and now and I have 2 mouths that are ever open ! I'm afraid we've decimated the ice creams and lollies 😱 Today I will sort out the leftovers in the fridge that has only bit's and bobs in it now. The small freezer needs some attention as it's iced up....... someone left the door ajar, won't mention names but he lives here with me 😁 So 2 cool tasks on the cards for me, then it's feet up, reading/ TV or computer games. There's some chicken left over from lunch yesterday so tea today will be chicken fried rice with a sweet and sour sauce perhaps.rolorich welcomeMehefin Hi ! Your animals must be melting in this heat but I know you'll take great care of them.Take care all, stay safenan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently11

rolorich - welcome.
We stayed dry yesterday - it did come over cloudy during the afternoon but I think that was the tide turning - one of my Mum's sayings.
None of the lollies that we wanted in Icelan. yesterday so Mr F got something different - as long as it is ice cream - okay with me

Rolorich hope you like it here & welcome.MIA for a couple of days, seems to have been hectic. I had to have a good tidy up as yesterday my oldest friend came- snap TA :)we mainly sat in the back garden too with a picnic but did go for a short stroll to the park, and today we were having new meters fitted. The electric meter is in a small cupboard on the chimney breast wall so I felt very sorry for the engineer grappling about on the floor, sideways at times. The gas is outside at the back, and the signal won't reach so I'll still have to read that one, but at least the electric reading will send automatically so I can put all the shoes back in the cupboard! No sooner had he gone when my shopping arrived, that's all put away now, next task pick up DGS. It'll be my last pick up at the infant school as he moves to Y3 in Sept. in the Junior school which is on a different site, there'll be no going on the park across from school then with his friends. DS wants to pick him up on Friday, last day of term here, and I'll get DGD. we'll prob have the quiche that has just been delivered with salad for tea.Right no more waffle, RR glad you seem to be on the mend now, hope any other poorlies are doing ok too x

Thanks all for the welcomes.Too hot to garden. Waaaay 🥵!Managed to cut grass that was all.
I was going to pick the black currents and make jam, maybe later.
my village knit group, one person is moving away so we ve been knitting squares to make her a cushion. So I shall finish my two squares for that this pm as too hot for anything else and finish my current audiobook
im out of dog food so will make my own for their tea tonight with rice, eggs, and whatever veggies I have. They love it, I make it from time to time for them. Rice rinsed in saucepan with enough water to cook and some oil. Throw in veggies and boil 5 mins or so then heat off, throw on some eggs, lid on and leave til cool. Easy when out of food. They will get spinach carrots and broccoli tonight in it. 4 eggs between three dogs10 -
Csarina Oi ! who are you calling crazy ? I'm as sane as the next woman and I even have a certificate 🤪 🤣rolorich I picked my blackcurrants this morning, well those that were left after the birds got to them first, no matter I'll share as there are loads this year. However they are going in the freezer as it's too hot to do anything with them today.nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8
