eBay accounts / council hosuing

Hello
I have two eBay accounts. Business and private. The business one I used for a while in December 2018 and then stopped using it. I started using it in April this year. Whereas the private one I recently sold quite a few of my own used and new stuff. The business is not registered with HMRC as it was just recently reused. Earn around £400 pm from it.

I have no savings, intact have to pay £15,000 credit card payments as this is what I used to pay for my PhD fee with until last year.

Have a saving of £5000 in account.
Work part time because of my health and earn around £500 pm from it.

Now I am on the verge of being homeless. The council has stepped in to help me. It has asked for my bank statements. There are numerous eBay transactions. What impact can these have on my council housing application?

Thank you

This is the welfare benefits section of the forum, not sure where the question is regarding benefits. For the criteria for social housing for your area you'll need to look this up on their website.

At a guess the reason for bank statements is to do an affordability check on whether you can afford the rent. Councils and housing associations usually do an income and expenditure check to see if you can afford the rent. Perhaps asking for bank statements is part of the check. If you think the ebay transactions may be a problem you'll need to speak to the council about this.

That's a different story to what you said on your other thread.

"Secondly, I have been clearing off my extra hoarded stuff on eBay. The payments come in our bank accounts directly now. it is not much I am making. Just clearing my stuff. But eBay now sends now money every day in, which seems as it is a regular incoming. "

Well that's actually the same stuff I have been telling. My extra hoarded stuff includes my unused jewellery and accessories. That I have been accumulating for years and years. bNWT. Some vintage some latest.  So I turned my normal account into a business account . And then there is a other for bric a brac. Old used tat. Both are not making much.
