ao

looking for some advice, purchased an american fridge freezer in 2017 within a few months it developed a fault, ice problems, and ao referred me to samsung.
The call handler was very hard to understand, and found i had to repeat everything as they never understood me. After finally thinking she understood me, i was informed that if a service engineer was sent out and no fault found, i would be charged, and that my problems could be down to hard water ( don't have that in Scotland) and to with appliance off and leave for a while and switch back on to reset it, i did this, still never cured the ice always cloudy, but we were getting ice again, she did not tell me however i would have to do this every week, anyway 18 months old it breakdown all food wasted, phoned ao as order states 5 year manufacture warranty to be informed i had no warranty. When this was delivered it came with no paperwork and i emailed ao to inform them off this, then followed by a telephone call where i was told i could get it online fine with me less clutter in my house. i was informed by ao i would have to phone samsung who offered a goodwill gesture of a repair, turns out major component failure, 8 months later again another major breakdown this time no help, had to pay for an approved service engineer, that came out and confirmed it was down to a manufacture defect that the insulation was porus and appliance was only fit for the scrap heap where do i stand with this as i am getting no where with ao or samsung. It also turns out that a class action suit is being taken against samsung with regards to these faults that they knew about in 2015 but still sold faulty products, my model being one of them. Was purchased through finance any advice would be appreciated

  • it was advertised with a 5 year warranty and order also confirms it, it does not state anything else, i.e. to be registered

    Two choices .
One Samsung warranty but they say you failed to register . Many warranty do require you to register and can be subject to any terms they want .
The Law your Consumer Rights are against AO not Samsung .
