No Claims Bonus transfer

Yesterday I cancelled the comprehensive insurance policy on my campervan due to selling it, I was insured with Swinton/Safeguard. During the same call I asked for a quote for a car that I am thinking of buying. All went well until they told me that I cannot transfer my NCB from the camper van to a car., even though they readily accepted my 7yrs NCB when I took out the policy.for the camper van. It seems that I am being penalised for years of careful driving. . .Is there anything I do about this?

Find a broker who's willing to accept the NCB from the camper policy...

Do you have any paperwork from your previous insurer to prove you had it?

Are you sure the camper policy is actually using the NCB? Specialist policies like campers and classics for "non-daily-use" vehicles often don't.
It's a good few years since I had a Swinton/Safeguard policy on a van, but I seem to remember it didn't use NCB...

If that's the case, then your NCB may have just timed out unused if you've not had it on a policy for two years or more.

Thank you. . .On the policy cancellation email I received from them yesterday, there is a 'Proof of No Claims History' section, it states 9 yrs NCB (validated)
