Travelling to Spain

Hi, I am also travelling to Spain next week – and need clarification of this information. We are a family of four, 2 double jabbed adults, one 5-year-old and one baby.

As I understand it, we don’t need to test prior to leaving the UK. The adults need to take a test two days before departure from Spain – this can be a rapid antigen test? (and am I correct in thinking we can take one with us – such as the Qured test?) Then three of us will need a PCR test on day two (the two adults and the five-year-old).

You will be subject to restrictions under Annex K for entry to Spain (click here). Spain is not my area of expertise, so someone who knows more about this should be along to help soon.

You will need a test within 3 days of departure from Spain. If you arrive in the UK on a Friday, you can take the test any time on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. This can be a rapid test, but must lead to a certified result.

Assuming you have had both vaccinations in the UK, the day 2 testing requirements are here (click here). I'd recommend doing this with Collinson at your airport of arrival on the day you arrive, but how you do this is completely your choice. This is applicable for anyone after their 5th birthday on the date of arrival.
