Isolation question

My daughter (who doesn't live with me) tested positive for Covid on Sunday. As i had close contact with her on the Friday i received a text from test and trace telling me to isolate until 26th July. (which i am)
I know that if i test positive then my isolation will start agin from that day. What i'm confused about is that i live with my other daughter, if she tests positive would i have to isolate for a further 10 days? It may seem like a silly question to some people but i genuinely don't know the answer. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I think that's correct, we are just starting our first ever period of isolation as my other half has just tested positive, just hoping he keeps it to himself other wise our 10 days are just going to keep restartingMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

How long you need to self-isolate
If someone you live with tests positive, your self-isolation period includes the day their symptoms started (or the day they had the test, if they do not have symptoms) and the next 10 full days.

I thought that if you tested positive you isolated for 10 days. If daughter tests positive on your day 9 you still only have 1 day of isolation left as supposedly you are beyond the period when you might contaminate others when you hit day 11.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Knew I'd seen a picture somewhere. This makes it all very simple.

I really quite get the anxiety with this. I have only vaguely worried about getting covid as I would hope to get through it ok and hopefully those in my house would too. What worried and still worries me is the isolation period as we have no good friends nearby to get us groceries, have never done online shopping for groceries (I'm sure we could figure it out ok) and so fresh food would quickly become a problem. Particularly as we are really a shop every other day at least kind of household. No big weekly shops.
I expect a lot of people who are in similar circumstances - from habit or lack of cash - would turn a blind eye to symptoms to avoid the isolation. Not rational of course but I'd be tempted.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. My biggest issue is that I feel really sorry for my children having to be housebound again just as they start the summer holidays.
But I can see why people would turn a blind eye to ensure their families are fed as well as letting their children out of the house, thankfully I don't think my children are the sort that will be pestering to break the rules but I imagine plenty will doMake £2023 in 2023 (#36) £3479.30/£2023

Thanks everyone, very helpful. I'm like others here and i don't have anyone to go and get me any essentials. My only contacts are my daughter and her partner. I've started an online shop for delivery, which isn't a problem but that's not coming until Thursday afternoon and i'm already out of bread and milk.My medication runs out on Friday too. Hopefully the pharmacy will deliver to me. Nightmare really!1

I must admit I do have a couple of people, not very local but incredibly helpful, who would do a one off delivery for me if I cried for help. But one doesn't like to inconvenience!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
