Planet Rock's DIY Day is back! The day when we give over control of the UK's biggest rock radio station to our listeners!

From 10am - 6pm on bank holiday Monday 30th August we're giving 8 lucky listeners an hour each to present their own show and play their favourite songs to the nation on Planet Rock.

How do I enter? To be considered for a show on DIY Day, we need you to complete the form on this page with all your contact details, so that we can get in touch with you, should you be chosen.

What do I need to submit? Firstly we need a list of 20 songs you'd like to play (more than we play in an hour, just so we've got plenty of spares in case people choose the same tunes). Secondly, we need a head and shoulders photo of you (don't worry, we're not judging this on looks, this will only be used for your presenter photo on our website). Finally, we need a voice recording of you talking for no more than 60 seconds about your favourite song, or a time when you've seen a band live and loved it.

Tips: Remember, this is an opportunity to be on Planet Rock, talking to millions of fellow rock fans! So we're looking for people who sound enthusiastic and really love the music they've chosen! You don't need to sound like a cheesy DJ, or be able to do all the technical stuff, we'll take care of that for you (we're nice like that). The main thing we want to hear in your voice recording is your enthusiasm for the music, so something like "This next song is one of my all-time favourites, it's Black Sabbath by the mighty Black Sabbath. I remember seeing them at Download 2016, we were all standing there in the mud, with black clouds overhead, and when they kicked off with this, it was just amazing!"

Voice recording requirements: You can record on your phone, laptop, or any other device you have - we're not expecting studio-quality audio for this, we just want an idea of what you sound like. We need you to upload the resulting voice file to a file storage service such as Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, pDrive, box, etc and then give us the share link. We advise against using short-term file transfer services such as Wetransfer, Samsung Share as link, or iCloud as these links expire after a few days, and we may miss your file if you share it in this way.

Please note that due to the current Covid-19 situation, you won't be asked to come to our studios to do your show. We'll be using some snazzy tech to allow you to do it from home.

Your entry will be carefully considered by the Planet Rock team, and if we think you've got what it takes, we'll be in touch!

Planet Rock is not obligated to play all of the tracks selected by you and retains editorial control for the duration of your time on air.

Please refrain from swearing or any provocative topics. Straying from these guidelines will instigate removal from Planet Rock.

The decision for who is chosen is that of the Planet Rock team. The Planet Rock team's decision is final.
