Scottish or English rules for driving to the tunnel ???

Do we follow the English rules for travel or the Scottish ?
Also, if France turns red, would we have to quarantine at a hotel in England or drive home to Scotland and do it there ?

Why wouldn't you follow English law and guidelines whilst you are in England and Scottish law and guidelines when in Scotland?

You will be taken straight to a quarantine hotel in England.1

If you can drive from Scotland and through the Channel Tunnel to France without passing through England, you are a better man than I.0

You will be hotelised immediately upon entry into the UK, which will be in England.1

Thankyou Sheramber and Ben, I couldn’t find anything on the net about ferry or tunnel arrival hotel isolation from a red country. All the hotel info is based around flight arrivals.

I have no definitives either but all red list hotels are at the airport on arrival. There are no allowances to travel outside of the airport or further your journey upon arrival. I applied that logic with taking the Eurotunnel or ferry. To be honest, no other red list country can travel by car or boat so it'll all be brand new if it happens but to be allowed to continue travel upon arrival (visiting service stations for the toilet, getting petrol & food etc) I find highly unlikely especially when considering why the countries are on the red list2

These are the current rules for arriving in England if you’ve been in a Red List country in the in the 10 days before arriving (and are not exempt from MQ.)
Where you can arriveIf you’re required to quarantine in a managed quarantine hotel you can only arrive in England at certain ports of entry. Currently these are:
- Heathrow Airport
- Gatwick Airport
- London City Airport
- Birmingham Airport
- Bristol Airport
- Farnborough Airport
- Biggin Hill Airport
Other ports of entry may be added in the future.
Carriers are not permitted to carry anyone who has been in a red list country in the previous 10 days to any other port of entry than those specified.
Direct flights from red list countries must arrive at dedicated red list terminals. Currently these are at London Heathrow and Birmingham Airport.
If you are required to quarantine in a managed quarantine hotel and do not arrive in England at one of the designated ports of entry, you may face a penalty of up to £10,000 and will be charged for the cost of transportation to the nearest designated port or entry.

They clearly may change the rules should France turn red.1
