Portable Air conditioning advice

Options
Hi everyone!

Looking for some advice about room sizes as I'm useless at this stuff.

My partner has ordered us a new portable air conditioner which arrives on Wednesday but he didn't measure the room to see if it would be powerful enough.
I've just taken the room measurements and it is
Length: 15ft
Width: 11ft
Height: 8ft

I've no idea how to convert this into the size the website uses so would be amazing if someone could help.
All the sites I've found for size conversion are showing it for material/fabric

It's the De'longhi Pinguino Pac N82 from Argos

The specs are

  • Output 9400BTU.
  • Energy efficiency class A.
  • 1000 watts(Max Cool 2.4KW)
  • Suitable for room size up to 80m².
  • Size H70, W42.5, D34.5cm.
  • 1.5m cable.
  • Requires external ventilation.
  • Includes 150cm hose.
  • Castors for easy movement.
  • 3 speed settings.
  • 1 -hour timer.
  • Noise level 63dB.
  • Remote control requires 2 x AAA batteries (included) .
  • Manufacturer's 2 year guarantee

If someone could let me know if this will be powerful enough I'd be very grateful

    No.
    26 SQM is not 15.3m2.
    It is 26 m2.
The specs say suitable for a room size of 80m2.
Keep an eye on your electric usage.
Or you will be back on here complaining about a big bill !!

  • Sorry I meant is the 15.3 SQM or a different measurement?
We have an air con already but wanted a newer up to date model so already used to the cost, the one we have at moment uses around £3 a day so it's not an issue
  • Looking at the official de'longhi site it says upto 80m³ so think argos might have made a slight error on their page

    Looks like a Argos error.
    Go onto their Q & A page & seek conformation ??
  • Had a look at the official site and it says
Suitable for rooms upto 80M³(80 Meters Cubed)
Found a website that works M³ out from Length, Height and Width and it says my room would be 37.3M³ if I've done it correctly :open_mouth:
Hoping I've worked it out correctly

    What 26 SQM?
    What Argos error?
What I see  quoted here is

    The specs are

    • Suitable for room size up to 80m².
That said, it's hard to believe that it can cool such a big room.

Keep an eye on your electric usage.
Or you will be back on here complaining about a big bill !!

    It's 1kW, i.e. max. 24kWh per day that's about £4

  • Argos made the error of putting 80m² and it should be 80m³
  • It can cools rooms of upto 80m³
If I've worked it out right on website(Height, Length, width) my room is 37.3m³ but not sure if I've worked it out correctly
