Kaspersky Internet Security and Malwarebytes

I have used KIS for years and always been very pleased with it.

Alongside this I have always used the free version of Malwarebytes.

However, today for the first time ever, I have got a recommendation flagging up from Kaspersky saying that keeping Malwarebytes could reduce the protection of KIS and I should delete it.

I can't understand why this has suddenly become an issue.

Well internet security does the same job to an extent as the Malware Bytes residential scanner, so effectively if you have them both running they'll just bicker between them.  Best to turn off the real-time protection of Bytes (if present, can't remember if it's in the free version or not?)

Although that being said, with Windows 10 you don't need either of them anyway.

If it were me I would uninstall both of them and use the inbuilt Windows 10 program (assuming you are on W10 of course)

MB does seem to have problems with KIS last year or so .
If you have paid for KIS use it and run MB online scanner whenever .
Dont delete a paid for KIS in exchange for Win Defender .

I use Defender but scan once a week with free versions of MBAM and its oppo ADWcleaner and usually they pick up something that Defender missed.

That's a fantastic phenomenon. What happens when you scan with Superantispyware?

How do you know there's nothing there if you haven't tried a Superantispyware scan. Go on, take the plunge and I bet something shows up.

I also have both. Malwarebytes sometimes gives me a free trial of the paid for version and automatically enables its features. This could be the cause of your issue. I suggest having a look in the settings for malwarebytes and turn off the extra features if they are on as a result of a free trial.
