Try this link for two more old (and free) versions of software:

Camtasia is a video capture software.
Snag it is for taking still screenshots
I use both to create online training material0 -
Maybe prices for this magazine vary across the country, but I have just been charged £4.99 (the cover price on my copy from Tesco). I'm not complaining, but just thought people might want to know!0

If you read the first post ...
The magazine costs £3.75 (or £4.99 for the one with the DVD version).0 -
If you upgrade this to Quark 7, whether it is a Windows PC or Mac upgrade you can contact Quark to make it cross platform. This only applies to versions of Quark 7. I can speak from experience having upgrading from a previous cover disk. It just took a phone call to Quark support and they made the serial number activate on a mac also.
that is interesting jestera, thanks. Although not sure I want to pay over £300 for the package, even if it is around half cover price.0 -
Thanks for this OP.
I use Quark at work and have been desperate for it at home so I can sharpen my skills.Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

Thanks dc, I got a copy last time but have changed computers since then and will be buying a couple more Computer Shoppers this time.
Does anyone know if this works with Vista?
I got my hands on Quark Xpress 5.01 last time it appeared on the mag (early 2007, I think). I run it on Vista (but you have to launch via right-click and 'Run As Administrator'). I haven't found any issues so far.
Great package. Well worth getting if you want to dabble in DTP...0 -

By giving away a free copy of version 5.01 it gets extra exposure of its product, and it makes you register so it hopes later you'll pay to upgrade to a newer version. Plus it means that those pirated copies that are being sold out there will be devalued, and Quark can keep control of its own product.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
It would appear this DVD is only geared for PC platform, I've been all over Quark this afternoon trying to get to the bottom of this, have yet to receive a reply, but having now put the disk into a PC, it only gives you the option for windows install.
It would also appear that the upgrade (to V7) offer is also only available for PC.
I'll post any useful response I get back Quark/Computer Shopper, but would suggest MoneySavingExpert gets in touch with them to clarify and post their findings regarding the 'PC user only' and ask why there are no 'system requirements'/'PC only' details clearly displayed on the cover/disk case or CD.0 -
Beware, this free version doesn't work with Windows Vista - this has been confirmed to me by Quark.0

Has anyone successfully used this on Vista (despite what the magazine publishers say)?0
