Rent Credit (Advice)

Hi, I am with a Housing Association and I am in credit with my rent of £249.13 and I requested for this to be refunded to my bank account, but they have told me no, I can't have it refunded, am I thinking that I am entitled to this credit to my bank account or are the HA correct?

I am well mad, I should be entitled to this credit to my bank account. Any advice would be welcome, thank you.

Are you in receipt of housing benefit or the housing element of universal credit?

It's because your UC payment goes in to your rent account calendar monthly but your rent is debited weekly. This is why, just before your 9th July UC payment went in you only had a credit of £16.98. It's not a real credit as it reduces every week as your rent falls due.
