Day 2 Test

Can anyone help?  If I’ve had both jabs and return from an Amber country then I think I’m correct in saying that I only need a test on/before day 2.  Problem is I tested positive on July 6th and they tell you not to have another PCR test for 90 days?  So what test do I do on return before day 2?
Thanks

You will need a PCR test booked through an approved supplier on day 2.

There is no exemption for a previous positive test at this time.

You are at risk of testing positive again due to the previous positive test.

OP even if you are fully UK vaccinated when entering the UK from an Amber country you must take a COVID test before travelling to UK and if it is positive you will not be able to travel.

    Thanks, I missed that part.

To clarify, my above post is in addition to a LFD or PCR within 3 days of arrival (as an example, if you arrive at 20:00 on Friday, you can take the test any time on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday).

    Thank you
I understand that part but that can be a lateral flow test which isn’t a problem, it’s the test once back in the UK that will be an issue. i.e. produce a false positive

    Thank you
