Direct debit unknown

On checking my statements (should do this more often!) I seem to have a few months of direct debits for ‘Applefreshen QR4TE’, but have no idea what this is for. Amounts vary from £6.08 and £9.12. My statements show this as Go cardless. Does anybody have any idea what this could be as I’m at a loss to know what it is. The only thing I pay for Apple is 79p a month for the iCloud.

If you don't recognise it then you need to report it to your bank ASAP so you are not held liable for it. Gocardless is just a service to process payments so you need to figure out who the merchant is and how they got your bank details or otherwise just authorise your bank to refund the payments under the DD guarantee (assuming these are DD payments and not something you've set up a CPA on your debit card for). Cancelling the DD won't remove any obligation to pay for a service if you've signed up for something though.1
