Laying patio cost

Just had a quote for laying a porcelain patio. £11500 to lay 100 m2..Now it's going to be laid on the diaganol so I know there will be more cuts and there will be the hire of the diamond blade cutter. But even so ...is ( allowing for all the sundries) £100 / sq metre taking the p**s?? ( based in NW if that helps!) And doesn't include cost of porcelain. Thanks

I'd guess that company doesn't want the job. Could be they would lose any trade discount on the porcelain

He's not giving me the impression that he doesn't want the job. He has also included the cost of the porcelain else where in the quote!!0

Are they including, preparing the land, removing old slabs, cost of skip?

Yes, patio down with hard core underneath at the mo. The hard core will need to be topped up I guess. Drainage is else where in the quote0

I've just paid £85 per square meter. For a 2.5m x 7m patio 100mm deep concrete. (About £1500). I did have an existing slab patio that was left insitu to act as a base. I supplied the porcelain, addy and grout.0

That's a huge patio! The cost doesn't sound outrageous to me considering the amount of labour involved. How much is the entire quote including the porcelain tiles?0

I’d take a look at the total cost of the job and decide based on that - Porcelain is an expensive patio material so wastage and cuts he can’t use do cut into the margin on the job but it seems that’s a separate cost and may / may not be heavily discounted.
Given the absolute nightmare to get trades at the moment - You and only can decide if his work is worth what appears to be over £750 skilled and £250 labouring costs per day and if his material costs balance it in anyway as that MIGHT make it reasonable but I doubt it.
My view if I was given that as the Labour element would be very simply “No” it’s skilled and intensive hard work BUT come on….
On another note - Not quite sure how mkbmgli compares 86sqm for £4500 with 100 sqm for £11500 and believes it could be reasonable?0
