I was lucky finding a small company that made sheds and fences to order, quite heavy duty it was little bit more expensive but has been in for 15 years and is still going strong, my neighbour has replaced his twice in this time.Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene.'0

Have you tried smiling sweetly at them and saying 'I know you love your fence so I'll put my new one inside my garden and leave yours there'?That might take them aback when they thought they would get you to do it all.If they acknowledge they would like to have the new fence after all then you could offer to paint it. Probably safer anyway.At least that scenario would show you in a good light as a new neighbour.Funny thing about fences, my neighbour likes the cheap ones and orange stain. In any case, you'll be painting their side, so can be careful. I doubt they'll repaint it in many years - it looks as tho' they have trees, shrubs and bushes tight against a lot of it - no wonder it's coming down...
