Morning, hugs if you need one........Gers, just a few more steps along the road and all will be done, you will be able to settle back in your little house. You are to be congratulated on a very difficult job very well done. After such a long journey you will be very tired, so a nap in the afternoon will help.
Its hot again this morning, today is supposed to be hotter than yesterday, I hope not, I found it very difficult to cope with even with the fans on in the sitting room and bedroom, I was too hot to sleep. I think I managed about 4 hours all told.
DB is out, its feeding time in the garden, so he is getting on with the job before it gets too hot. I have to admit I am so glad we are not on a water meter. I need to have a look at the two hanging baskets.
Need to sort out something for lunch and supper, it will be salad of some sort tonight. Might be corned beef, full of fat I know but it needs using up.

Had to come back to say that my thoughts are sending good vibes to Dumpling's DSis - 10 hours is a long long time so here's hoping it's successful. As the weather looks to be a scorcher (first time in a few days) I've been out to water the garden. I've got a hose which expands and shrinks and always forget to turn off the water before I finish watering so I stand there for what seems ages emptying the hose and watching it shrivel up. The plants 'look' grateful and the birds will be happy as I refilled their watering hole.I'm doing a bit of very passive decluttering - there's a bag and a tin both full of memory flash drives which I'm going to go through to see what's on them and then format them. They were all necessay (?) when I was working and now redundant, just like me. I have no idea what to do with them afterwards, something will come to me.13

Hi everyone,
Dumpling, I hope your sister's op is a success.
I've been reading along but not posting because we've had a little visitor who likes to press the on-off button on my laptop, it's easier just to put it away until he's in bed. We weren't supposed to be together with Laura and Brian for so long but they were both ill with the norovirus Esben picked up at nursery. For a wonder Steve and I both managed to escape it. On Saturday we had a barbecue at Chris and Crystal's to celebrate the end of Steve's treatment, it was also the first time we had all been together for a year. We had a lovely time and had bought a bbq box from the Hawksmoor restaurant which was really excellent.
To compensate for the meat feast we had on Saturday we had a veggie meal on Friday and sea bream last night so I feel ok rather than having the bloats I sometimes get after too much meat.
I shall not be changing anything I do from today, still avoiding too many people and wearing masks inside. Having said that, I wasn't anything like a party animal before. If the cases go up much more we'll probably return to supermarket deliveries again.14 -
Morning all
Scorchio already here and I am another one who had trouble sleeping as it was just too hot, I kept putting the fan on but then the noise would keep me awake so would turn it off again and get too hot !!
We have been told to isolate for another two days as we still had some symptoms so we are now stuck in till Wednesday, I am quite glad really as although we are feeling slightly better we still feel rough so another couple of days will help.
DD took the dogs out at 8.15 last night (she is now covid clear) and it was still scorching, roll on Wednesday when we can take them to the woods and a dip in the pond which they love and it will cool them off.
Still not eating much so will just grab what we fancy as and when.
Taff well done on the weight loss thats a fantastic amount xxx
Dumpling I Hope all goes well for your sister today xxx
Have good days all xx13 -
Hello all, sorry I'm so late, leave it to me to bring up the rear.Hands up how many didn't sleep well last night because of the heat ? Thought so, most of us it seems, I'll have a cool shower before I go to bed and hope I can get some sleep tonight. And yes I too am living off ice cream, cornetto and rocket lollies, but I did lose 6lb of weight last month, so that's my excuse. Thankfully my knee has gone down to it's normal size, think I must have twisted it awkwardly when mowing. This morning I dusted the living room while waiting for a sm delivery, only 2 subs, no major changes and we are now topped up with more ice cream 🤫, fruit and cleaning/laundry products. I need to put some tin stuff away this afternoon and ice some fairy cakes for the DGC, they are coming over tomorrow for a few hours as DD and SiL are going on a bike ride 😱. DGC didn't want to go and I don't blame them in this heat. Except for making tea which maybe another salad for me and pasty and oven chips for himself, that's me done for today.Lovely to see some MIA's returning, you were all missed.taff blimey all that weight, my loss is insignificant compared with that ! Well done you.Dumpling thinking of your DSiS, I hope all goes well. Hugs to both of you.Snoozer glad you had a great time at the BBQ.Take care all, stay safe.nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10 -
I sound like the only one here who slept okay. I just woke for my nightly toilet trip and straight back to sleep. I even had a lie in after Mr F left for court.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering Target - 2024 - 3,129 May - 130/120
