You'll appreciate it all the more for the hardships you go through, trust me.
Really wish I could believe this :(

We just have the tinted glass, which is a lot nicer than polycarb and much quieter when it rains.
Is it tinted glass all the way round or just on the roof? Was just wondering why tinted glass instead of untinted. Maybe one way mirrored glass would be cheaper than the ones with the blinds.
  • First quote for 3m x 3.75m conservatory with 13 uPVC units and 5 aluminium/glass roof panels £13k. Is that reasonable?

Tinted glass is treated to reflect certain wavelengths of light, so helps with reducing excessive heat build-up, but it isn't a substitute for good ventilation. Ours is on the roof only.
As for whether a quote is reasonable, that depends on exact specs and other comparable quotes you get, but a rule of thumb is to knock back the first quote as 'too high' and see where that goes! It's all a game.

Quote was based on sending them pictures, they didn't visit. Quotes haven't been 100% clear on matching what I asked for but builders aren't famous for their excellent communication skills. Solar control glass for roof.
Are you suggesting haggling the price on this? Got another company visiting this week so will see what they say.

Yes, don't be in too much of a hurry. See where other quotes go and haggle.
