Cheques received payable to late father

Hi,
I've recieived a few cheques made payable to my later father. All of his accounts were closed following his death. I and my sister are the executors of his will. Is there anyway these can be paid into my account (with proof of the will etc) or will they have to be reissued (one is a PPI reclaim which I suspect might be difficult to get reissued).
I'm sure this has probably been asked a fair few times before but I couldn't easily pick it out from a search.
Thank you

I just reworked cheques and sent a copy of death cert and will and asked it to be reissued in my name.
It came back with my name and (Executor) at end, my bank was fine (Halifax)Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....1
