Is it possible to change broker mid purchase?

Originally I was buying a flat off Estate Agent X. Their inhouse broker was the person handling the case and was very pushy about using their services. I admit, I caved and just paid the £99 fee because he took ages to reply when I initially said no. I didn't want him slowing down the purchase because he's annoyed I didn't use his service.
Anyway long story short that purchase fell through (already had a mortgage offer for that place). I then got an offer accepted for a property from estate agent Y and he said he's able to act as my broker for this one. However, he's been hard to get hold of for this second purchase and he's not replied to my email in over a week which is interesting because he was very quick to reply when I was trying to buy the first flat.
Given that rates have gotten better, i want to apply for a new mortgage application for the new flat anyway - can I just ditch my current broker and contact a new broker who won't mess me about since I will have to reapply for a new mortgage? Also not sure if it looks bad if I apply for another mortgage in a short space of time...

The searches may look bad. 🤷♀️But I’d change if they were crap. I am also renowned for cutting off my nose to spite my face. You’ll lose the £99 though.

@raneynickel4 If you already have a mortgage offer, you don't necessarily need a full fresh application to change the product and property.
But if your broker is taking a week to respond to an email, can't blame you for thinking of switching to another broker. If you do switch brokers, you will have to put in a new full application, the existing offer can't be used.I am a Mortgage Adviser - You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
