If both parents have passed along with one sibling and the surviving sibling has been left the parents property in the will why are solicitors asking to see copy of deceased siblings probate?

Did the will of either parent make any reference to the deceased sibling?0

The will states the following: as to 50% for my said child (deceased one) alive at the date of my death absolutely provided that if my said child shall have predeceased me then I give the said 50% share to the remaining alive child at the date of my death absolutely.0
