Sun_Addict - ive still not heard anything about any money related thing, so just carrying on as normal and trying not to spend unnecessarily. Mind you it's difficult as I feel as if I'm going backwards to my 20's when money was tight and we didn't have 2 pennies to rub together!, In fact it's very much like! OOh well, not to worry it's not worth it, best get through winter first🙂£1 a day 2025: £90.00/365 Xmas fund1

Been watching the Queen's funeral today and it makes me feel so sad, she was a constant in my life, I was born just after she came to the throne so she's been there a long time for me, hopefully Charles III will be in the same ilke as the Queen was.
The only money spent on groceries this week has been on a litre of milk from the local farm, so I will add that onto my total.
It was my bday the other day and I met up with my oldest friend who came for a visit and took me out for a meal, it was a big 0 bday, so that was really nice of her and then my youngest DD made a cake and nibbles and we all went to hers yesterday and celebrated again and a nice time was had by all.
Im still doing eldest dds washing, they are still waiting for a part, and it won't come until next week and then it needs fitting! I don't mind though as it's not their fault and as they both work long hours it just my way of helping them. I only dry outside though and hot hot washes are out🙂
That's about it, the community shop has closed! But the lady who ran it is opening another one that is going to be open longer hours, more days and nearer to me in the next town along, so thats good really🙂

Sun_Addict - thanks for the birthday wishes, it was lovely to have two dds and families all together, it doesn't happen very often.🙂

Just lost my whole post by pressing the wrong button 🙁🙁🙁🙁
So a quick summary, I'm still doing dds washing, well the clothes anyway as she takes the big stuff to the launderette but hopefully they are coming with the correct new part next week🙂 (she's getting right fed up!!)
I have hit my first target towards the replacement canopy, I could really do with some quotes to see how much more I have to save but for the time being I will set the target for another thousand! I'm very pleased with myself for managing to save this amount🙂
My winter preps are still ongoing but I have managed to get another couple of bits off my list. But I do need to organise a boiler service, I keep putting it off!!!
The new community shop will be opening very soon so I can hopefully stop robbing peter to pay paul when it comes to my very tight grocery budget, I try to manage on what's left in my account after everything has been allocated but most months it only leaves me £10 a week and it is very hard especially these days as all summer I've had lots from the Lottie. I have planted more on the Lottie but at the moment I seem to be in an in-between period!!
So that's it at the moment, there's not much going on other than the same old, same old but that's fine really. Oh by the way, I still haven't heard off anybody pension credit wise or received my Iceland voucher so I will have to chase them up. Take care everyone.

Haven't heard from you for a while. Hope everything is OK? XXI Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Sorry everyone I've just been taking some time out from all the madness that's going on, but I'm pulling my bgk's up again and readjusting things a bit.
kayannie - my voucher from Iceland landed last week, but now I have to eat out of the freezer to get some room!!! I'm pleased you managed another 10% off as well, I'll have to remember to make sure I go on the right day!!
Chrystal - thanks for the concern, I'm fine I had a week house sitting at my dds and then just went off line for a bit, but I'm back now and eager to make up for lost time.
I'm not sure have much I've spent on my groceries but I still have all my receipts in the jar so I will see how much it is and update it this week. I know I'm overspending as prices seem to be jumping up by leaps and bounds but you have to eat🙁
I did a bit of an experiment yesterday, I put my heating on for 1/2 hour, turned everything else off (barr the fridge freezer) and it cost 20p, now I know that's not much and it was powering on all cylinders because 1/2hr isn't much time but if I take that price by the time you multiply it up, it ends up quite a bit of money, so now I know I can ration it out better!! I know the gvt are helping us out but I'm stashing as much as I can for the next lot of rises incase we have to pay full price, it's not going on anything else other than g&e or I will have more heating on when it gets really cold and then its paid for.
I went to a lovely 70th bday party last weekend and stayed in a b&b, that was very kindly paid for, it was great dancing, eating and chatting to everyone (over 100 people were there) and I knew quite a few of them! A walk was organised on Sunday morning in their local park but two blokes and me chickened out and went to the local cafe for coffee and cake😃 I'm sure I had the best deal😃
Talking about g&e, I've had the first payment from the gvt so my DD has been lowered, but my credit I still have is just getting bigger and bigger! The other thing is I'm still not sure if I'm being charged right as I was on a fix, they haven't informed me, so I will have to look around what the new rates are because my daily rate seems to be a lot higher than I'm used to and it shouldn't have changed/or gone down to the new prices. I will chase that up next week.
Can't think of anything else at the moment, so I am back on my mission for a better frugal and simple life. Oh and I managed to grow two melons, the third one had been half eaten, so eldest DD has had the biggest and I have the other. I haven't had it yet so it may be awful but it's the first time I've actually managed to grow any and even if it's awful I will be having at least one piece of it!!!!! 😃
Take care everyone, I'm going to bed but as from tomorrow I will be posting my everyday ups and downs of living with very little.
