Makingabobor2 - I must admit I hadn't thought of freezing mash until I was at youngest dds not that long ago, and she was thawing a tub of mash and other veggies on the side, they were leftovers, apparently she does it quite often and although I'd freeze shepherd's pie, I'd never thought of just freezing potatoes, so next time I had mash I tried it and they heated back up really well, so I thought if ever I come in and can't be bothered to cook a hot dinner for myself I'd be half way there if the veggies just needed reheating🙂.

Just another short one today.
The kristingle service was postponed in the church because of the bad rain and gales and it was held in the school hall instead. We were unable to go as the school hall as it isn't big enough for the service and parents, but I can understand why the vicar changed venues. I collected dgd from school and her orange and candle etc were still intact so it's now sitting in their front room.
I had lots of baby cuddles and doggy cuddles and playtime with dgs whilst there and this morning whilst dgs was at nursery, DD managed to wrap the remainder of the children's presents,so that was a job well done. We didn't venture out at all with the baby because of the weather so no money was spent🤣 and DD cooked us a lovely lunch, so I just had leftovers for tea out of the fridge, so a frugal day. And when I landed back home the garden was still intact and my pots etc were all still in place🙂
Tomorrow I'm venturing out to try a new farm for its fresh milk as it's a little nearer than the usual one I use, but I'm not sure if they sell raw milk or eggs etc so it depends whether I start going there or go back to my usual place.
Anyway off to lock up, I can't hear any rain or wind at the moment so I'm hoping it's given up for a bit, keep safe everyone and be careful of fallen trees etc when out and about.

nannygladys said:Cherryfudge - when any of my girls cook one of the recipes ( they do occasionally) from it, it's like a bit of me being carried on through them, it makes me feel happy and perhaps they will pass a few onto their children when ready and the circle carries on going! Getting a bit carried away now 🤣
Nowadays it's a two-way traffic. I make the curried parsnip soup I had from my son, and my daughter's waffleberry pudding is inherited from her mother in law but has spread through our family!I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
