Hi all
Thanks for taking the time to read and would appreciate any thoughts on this one
First time buyers here
Last October we viewed and offered on a house after a bit of back and forth with us increasing our offer we were informed that the Vendor had
changed their mind and have taken the property off the market
Out of the blue in December we had a call from the estate agent saying the vendor has now decided to proceed with the sale if we wish to,we
went for another viewing and decided we would carry on and started the ball rolling got our mortgage in place and instructed solicitors
We had hoped to be moving in late May early June
late May we were chasing for updates and were informed the Vendors valuers had just viewed her purchase and she should get her mortgage
offer in the next couple of days, this obviously was frustrating ( I could really write an essay here about the incompetence of the estate agents and
being ignored, not returning calls etc..)
We found out this week 14/7/21 that the Vendors mortgage offer is currently with underwriters
Bottom line,I am interested to know peoples thoughts on this are we mugs for letting this drag out..?
on a side note we transferred our deposit to our solicitors on the 8/5/21 as our solicitors were ready to exchange contracts
this has (of course) still not happened

You're not mugs but you may have been treated like ones. You are now in a position where you should be laying down ultimatums.
