Help with BT and video game controller.

I purchased a PlayStation 5 console back in December and now the controller has developed a fault called stick drifting which there are many articles on Forbes and other video game sites about this.
I contacted BT about this but they insist I can only return or refund the whole order which is ridiculous right now as there are no more PS5 consoles in stock anywhere...
I have asked seeing as they have 28 of the controller in stock by itself why they cant simply replace just the controller but they are refusing to help saying I need to speak to Sony.
However I purchased the goods from BT surely they are the ones that would deal with this when its only 6 months old for a £500 item rather than direct me to just speak to Sony?
Anyone know if I have any rights regarding this? I paid by credit card if it helps in any way.

Best speak to Sony and they will repair the controller through warranty or you could buy a new controller and still send off the faulty one0

it is over 6 months old as you bought last year and we are now halfway through the 7th month so your rights have changed1

Your card company won't help (more to the point what do you expect them to do exactly?).
You didn't just buy the controller. You bought the entire set. For BT to help you they need the entire set back to be able to replace or refund.
Go to Sony who will do a warranty repair on just the item impacted. If you cant survive whilst they do that then you will need to buy another controller in the meantime.
Note - not that you would (I don't know you from Adam) but before you might ask - it would be fraudulent to buy a new controller and return your current one in the packaging claiming the new one is faulty.

Why bother when Sony will deal with it under warranty?
BT are prepared to deal with it if he returns the whole package so he would still have to return the whole package.
Only way for controller to be dealt with singly is through Sony warranty.
