Quality Dog Food 🧐

Looking to cut our outgoings - we’ve had our 25kg two yr old crossbreed on Tails.com which is brilliant, with a cost of £66-£72 a month, which includes wet food, dry food and dental chews. I have no idea if this is a high price or about right - can anyone help? What does everyone spend on their large dogs a month?

Approx £30 for a 26kg dog fed on a raw diet.2

@sheramber could you give me some more information on what you feed your dog? We just got a puppy and are trying to figure out the best way to feed him once we get him off the Harringtons dry kibble and have heard a lot of good things about a raw diet.
Thank you.0 -
I am on my way out but will reply by message facility later.0

For our 37/40 kg Rusty, we have him on Purina hypoallergenic dog food as per instructions from the vet. He's an anxious dog and gets IBS if he overly stresses. We also need to manage his diet carefully as he's got a tendency to bouts of pancreatitis. To tempt him to eat his kibble, and to help against him suffering constipation, a few tablespoons of dog food from a tin of Chappie works very well. A tin of Chappie covers 5 meals, so it's not a lot. 11kg of Purina HA and 24 tins of Chappie came to £64.14 after shopping around on the internet - this will probably last him 5-6 weeks.

I buy the 15kg bag of Harringtons dry. My large breed dog cannot have things like Wagg because the food is coloured and it brings my dog out in a rash.1

It's a pleasure. The interesting thing is that the quality of dog food often bears no resemblance to the price, plus some terrible scores for nutritional value go to the foods sold by vets.Nagme said:
