You are making it sound like people are being rash and stupid by rushing to book.

That is my opinion.

I have not seen my son and his partner ,who live in Romania, for two years  Neither they nor me  or the rest of the family here are rushing to book flights.  Things are still to uncertain.

My DIL has not been able to visit her aunt since her uncle- who was a father figure to her and her only close relative- died last year. 

So I do  have experience of not being able to see family.

By all means book and go but don't complain when your plan backfires.

It has always been stressed that things can change from one hour to the next.

France has today put more restrictions  in travellers from UK. It is not just UK that are moving the goalposts back and forward.

You sound like a really unsympathetic person even though you have very good reason to be sympathetic.

Not everyone has yet “factored in” their properties, their residency, their family planning, their careers and their deaths.

I’m not saying we should change anything, just have a little sympathy for the genuine situations out there.

Do not forget we are in the 21 century now ,you can facetime people now and also do conference calls so most people can keep in touch.
