I suspect this "caution" is actually a NIP - notice of intention to prosecute.

A caution would be the end of it, but this isn't. The OP WILL be prosecuted in the future. There's six months for them to do so. Six points and a fine is the absolute minimum, plus the cost of releasing the car from seizure (which will require proof of insurance, and most insurers do not allow new policies to be used to release cars that were seized before the policy was set up).

I accepted fixed penalty notice and my license endorsed with 6 points with IN10.

There will be no further action, and it won't show up on a standard DBS check.  You wouldn't receive a police caution for a motoring offence.

You won't have.  Stop panicking.  Police cautions are for things like public order offences or drug offences, not motoring offences.  What people were referring to is the standard "You are being reported for the offence of xxx you do not have to say anything but it may harm your defence if you do not mention anything which you may rely on later in court, anything you do say may be taken down in evidence etc etc".  this is what people mean by caution.

As far as IN10 is concerned, you may struggle to rent cars from mainstream rental companies, so be wary of back street rental companies who can tend to be underhand with car damage etc.

You do not have a caution
I suspect it It would be an abuse of privilege for the police to both give you a fixed penalty and a police caution for the same offence as the offer of the fixed penalty closes the matter provided it is paid and license  submitted
Likewise a caution would close the matter and so a Fixed penalty could not then be given
