Amazon Prime Trial - Careful

joined amazon prime 30 day trial. just before trial ended attempted to cancel it. Amazon asked if I wanted to keep trial for another week at $ 1.99 USD. I agreed and kept trial for another week. Just before the week expired I tried to cancel and it gave me the option to pause subscription, so, if I ever need to rejoin I can do so.
When I did this, a message came up on screen saying 'your access to prime exclusive offers and benefits will be paused on June 24, 2021 and you will no longer be charged for your Prime membership..'
Since then I've seen several attempts by 'Amazon Digital' to charge my debit card $8.99 USD (6.49 GBP). Luckily I was using Monzo debit card and that account did not have money, so declined the transaction. amazon digital has again tried to charge debit card on 26 June, 29 June, 02 July, 05 July, 08 July. All were declined due to 'didn't have enough funds'.
Now I've contacted monzo and asked them to revoke this continuous payment authority (CPA)/recurring payment (we are within our rights to either contact the business or the bank and ask - FCA guidelines say so). Monzo has got back to me to confirm 'block'. few days ago I contacted Amazon via chat and agent said they will stop charging attempts. Even after that, I can see an attempted charge on 13 July.
Note that if you join the Amazon U.S. site, you may not be able to raise it with U.K. trading standards etc.

Because OP is talking about the US Amazon site where everything is priced in dollars? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
JJ_Egan said:Odd that prices in dollars why .Because they used the US site as they said? The regional sites are different but will use your same logon. Prime again is seperate for all of them. You can subscribe to them all if you like. Not that they have ever been a problem. All the amazons are easy to deal with.0
