Crikey it's a warm one. As my DM used to say on days like this "This heat kills my pig" Must be some obscure Yorkshire saying. We're a rum lot up here! I have done a half hearted dust and vac upstairs and down but nothing got moved. Too hot for lugging furniture around!
Thanks for the congrats for DGD. As much as she enjoyed performing with the Northern Youth Ballet over the years, and with the Alhambra Sunbeams in the annual panto, she says she doesn't want to make a career out of it. She loves all genres of dance and says she wouldn't mind going on to teach it sometime in the future but the arduous life of a prima ballerina isn't for her! A few of the students at her dance academy have won scholarships for residential tuition at Tring, Moorlands and Hammond and the principal wanted her to apply too but that got a definite no from her! For a 12 year old she has her head screwed on right and knows what she wants to do and what she doesn't!
NAN my youngest DGD moves up to secondary school this time too. She's such a little dot she doesn't look old enough! (She'll be 11 in August) I feel heart sloughed at thoughts of our baby going to big school! So then all 3 will be at the same school. Less driving around for DD though so that's an advantage.
I might have an early lunch now and then that's out of the way ready for the Hairdresser arriving. RUBY how lovely of NELS to have the flowers delivered. My thoughts are with her, peripheral neuropathy is a horrible condition, as well as suffering the after effects of the stroke. xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Phew it's hot,hot ,hot. Camelot, oh I could just jump in Loch Lomond right now! Just finished my lunch. It's DS2s birthday tomorrow, yesterday I asked what he wanted and he eventually came up with some filled planters so DS1 nipped me down to B 'n q and we picked some nice ones out. We had 2 from there earlier on in the year , which have been really good at 2 for 22 pounds. The birthday ones were bigger but look great.I've also made a cake , just have to fill with buttercream now and put candles on
for the benefit of the DGC you understand which we'll do tonight as tomorrow DGS is at a party at 10, and DS and children going to a BBq for three o clock so it would all be a bit of a rush.
I'm pleased to say DDog made it up to the park today so almost back to normal.RR it took a while before my tastebuds were back to normal& I couldn't stand drinking tea or coffee either.Hugs to you ,Nelski, Dumpling and Mr Fixit and hope there is improvement soon.Flowers were a lovely thought Nels if you're reading along. We do miss you!
TA congrats to DGD, she sounds like her head is screwed on right for such a young 'un.Right the cake won't ice itself! Bye for now x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10
