First chunk of overpayment done, 167.19. Rounds the mortgage payment up nicely to 630 and have set it up as a regular overpayment from now on.

Hope everyone has a good day today.

Little overpayment of 23.68, cashed in from Prolific, Premise and SB plus a small expenses payment that I hadn't accounted for. Have also hit the £25 mark with OnePoll and have a refund for an eye test to claim but will wait till they hit my bank account to pay off. Feel positive that the interest has already been paid with standard overpayment so although these are small drips they will add up and make a difference!

Have signed up for the MFW 2021 with a 4k target for the year, still musing on the target for the MFIT challenge for next year too...
Hope it dries up later for errands!

Hope everyone reading has a pleasant new year's eve. I always like the reset of a new year and thinking about hopes and aims for the year ahead.
It's been a weird December with Covid hitting the household, Christmas dinner in separate rooms and opening presents with masks on! I am feeling more tired post Covid and still have the remains of a cough and headache.
A quiet NYE planned for us, youngest is cooking and we have some buffet bits to supplement. The eldest 2 are planning to head out and meet up with friends.
Financially, I am planning a quiet Jan on the o/p front. The last major house improvements will be replacement of doors and once that's done and paid for I feel like I can put some money towards overpaying. I've signed up for the MFiT challenge and aim to reduce mortgage to 60K - ambitious but possible I think!

Best wishes to all for a good 2022!

Done a bit of updating budget and have overpaid £80.24 off the mortgage, 10.24 from Curious Cat surveys and 70 from a slightly bigger pay check from one of my jobs. The monthly payment and overpayment of £167.19 will go in on Tuesday.

Hi smetf, just read your diary. How many jobs do you have?

    Good luck with your overpaying!

    Hi killerpeaty,

I have 3 jobs (sort of). My main job is sessional work as a tutor, and I've got a few extra hours this month doing an extra course. Then I have 2 positions working with young people with a third in the pipeline. Plus squeezing in some unpaid childcare for family and home educating my 15 year old! All less stressful than my previous role though!

Checking in with my normal overpayment of 167.19. My pay check was even better than I thought as they have sorted my tax out already and I got a refund and no tax this month. £25 from one poll has arrived and I am just hanging on for premise to hit the £7 mark, then I'll cash out that and Prolific (standing at about 11 with a couple more payments that are due in the next few days) plus an ebay sale- should be a good little chunk to add on.

I've worked out to hit my 4000 target this year I need to pay an extra 333 a month, so that means finding 166 on top of the regular overpayment. Challenging but hopefully with the extra work and surveys will be possible!

Paid an additional 100 off today. All the surveys plus sale added up to just over 80 so rounded up to 100. Takes me slightly ahead of schedule for overpayments this month.

Been a quiet week back to work, my youngest took her first GCSE exam of the Jan sessions on Friday. Need to pay for the summer ones at the beginning of Feb but haven't pinned down which syllabus for English lit and she needs to decide on another option too.

You’re doing really well with all the survey sites/apps! I use prolific and influence because it feels like the returns are worth the effort if that makes sense? Would you recommend any others?

Good luck to DD with her GCSEs! Do you follow a curriculum for homeschooling?
