Hi All
I've been trying to get a clear answer on this and can't seem to find any defintive answer, so hoping some one here can help.
My wife and I have a car each. One car is registered in my wifes name and one car in mine. We are insured as the Main Driver on our cars, but we are also on each others insurance as named drivers so we can sometime use each others car. I know it only covers us on Third Party when drivng each others vehicles.
My main query is, do we need to be on each others insurance as named drivers if our Main Drivers policy covers us to drive other vehicles?

Driving Other Cars isnt offered on all policies now and more have exceptions than they used to but if you wanted to limit your search to only those insurers that would cover you then you can.
An insured and spouse policy is often cheaper an insured only driver policy so you could easily end up paying more for less cover1 -
Hi Sandtree
Thanks for the reply.
I have just renewed my wife insurance with a new provider as her current one had put the rpice up for this years covers. She is the Main Driver and I am on as a named driver. Her policy stated that Driving Others Cars isn't included, but if she in on my policy as a named driver, am I right in thinking this is not needed?
