No confirmation I have been switched, but a DD from potential new supplier to be actioned next week.
I actioned a switch from Neon to PfP at the start of the July (1st). I haven't had any comms from PfP since then, other than to state that a DD will be taken on the 22/07. I haven't had any info to suggest that the switch has occurred - so can PfP take a DD next week if they haven't completed the transfer of supply?

Were you advised of the DD date in an email/welcome to PFP type of thing? If so that would also have the date that they plan to start supplying you from. Also the email would have provided you with your account number. Have you created your online account? Any objection to your switch would have happened very soon after you initiated the switch. As you've heard nothing then it appears all system go!alicef said:I actioned a switch from Neon to PfP at the start of the July (1st). I just changed to them too. They took my first payment on the start date so I'd guess that your start date is the 22nd. They sent me an email on that day saying that they were now my supplier. They should send an email asking for a meter read shortly too.I actioned a switch from Neon to PfP at the start of the July (1st). Hi
Thank you everyone. I did set up my account at the beginning of July when requested but I haven't had any info since then. There shouldn't be an issue with the switch as the Neon Reef account is in credit. I'll wait and see what happens on the 22nd! Thank you all again.Fashion on the Ration 2026 Coupons 12/66

Are you really claiming you have received no communication since your application?alicef said:I actioned a switch from Neon to PfP at the start of the July (1st). If not, I suggest you contact the supplier to ensure they have received, accepted and are processing your application.
However, you seem to know when the first direct debit is due to be collected by PfP, so presumably you have received something.
Normally a supplier also issues new customers with a Welcome Letter, confirming the contract, the tariff, the start date, the payment schedule, etc (and usually includes a copy of their T&Cs)
If you have not received that, again, I would suggest you contact the supplier as PfP's own T&Cs refer to such a welcome letter.
The PfP website indicates they take 21 days to switch you (sometimes longer if a difficulty arises), then I think your switch will not occur until the 22nd probably. It also says you will be contacted 5 days before the switch goes live to remind you for your meter reading(s). So expect that today or over the weekend, or by Monday morning at the very latest.
If you don't receive that, it asks you to contact them to ensure everything is going ok.
Even if you didn't receive a welcome letter you were due, the MSE Cheap Energy Club warns that that PfP "Requires one month's direct debit payment upfront.", so it doesn't surprise me they are collecting it on the 22nd..
Some suppliers actually collect their first payment before the switch goes live.
Btw, do you already have a smart meter, or are willing to accept one? It was that requirement that put me off switching to PfP.
