Should I forward communications from the landlord to our sollicitor before we exchange contracts

Hi,

We are in the process of selling our flat (leasehold) and we are now very close to exchange contracts with the purchasers (probably next week).
We just received this week a letter from the landlord announcing that they will be selling the freehold, giving 2 months to flat owners to decide together if they want to buy it from them or not.

Do I have to inform our sollicitor of this communication?
Is it likely to affect our sale?

Thank you.

I'm interested on what planet you think it's not necessary to inform them of a fundamental change to what you're selling ?

Yes!  You need to declare this. How is this even a question?
Us bunch of randoms cannot tell you if it is likely to affect your sale.

Thanks for the rude answers I will inform our sollicitor of this communication, the reason I asked is that technically nothing is done and nothing will be done until the sale complete and landlords selling the freehold is to be expected for new builds as soon as all the units have been sold.

I would pass it on, but it really isn't a "fundamental change" to what they're selling - their leasehold interest remains the same no matter who the freeholder is.

You asked for opinions, I can only apologise that it was not worded to suit what you wanted to hear! Welcome to MSE!

It would be nice to pass it on as a courtesy to your buyer.

They might want to think about whether they might want to club together with the other leaseholders to buy the freehold, or not.

Yes but you need to declare any information that'd affect the buyer's purchase.
Sorry if this answer isn't covered in enough gold sprinkles either, it must be hard work being so sensitive :)
