BT cut off my landline without informing me

Hello, while upgrading my broadband package 2 weeks ago BT cut off my landline and set me up on a broadband package only without telling me.  I am trying to get my landline number back but after 2 weeks and over 4 hours on the phone to BT I still don't have the landline phone number that I've had for 44 years back.  My husband is self employed and uses that number for his work so he is now unable to receive any inquiries about work.  BT seem to be unable to resolve this and give me my landline number back.  Has anyone else had this happen and had any luck or ideas on how to get my landline number back?

Husband should have had a business service with service level conditions
