I can vouch for hovers being easier to use, some collect the grass & others just chop & let ti fall onto lawn.Your choice, I've had both types and the non collecting ones are ideal for me, but it would depend on how you personally feel about it.My current one collects which to me is PIA because I have to keep emptying the grass boxMy lawn is really just grass, moss, dandelions & daises and I'm not after pristine swardMine's a Flymo but from my experience all work as well, but the more well known should be easier for say spare blades if requiredRemember to buy a safety breaker while you're in the shop, could be a life saving tenner well spentCan't help on the vacuum, from what I've seen most seem to be blowers anyway, just blowing stuff somewhere elseEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

I've always had flymos just because they seem to be easier to come by and cheaper.
Even seen them i Lidl. I get mine from Argos but just look for the cheapest price.
I had one without a grass box very light to use but found the clippings got trodden into the house. Now i have grass boxes.
Remember to get a wide one if it's a big lawn though if it's weight is a problem more passes with a smaller one. Very easy to use and you can still make stripes
Remember to clean out the hood after use and brush the filters. Not a lonf or difficult job.
I had an all singing all dancing flymo leaf blower and collector even picked up wet leaves but it was heavy.
Now I have a challenge from Argos. Not tried it at collecting but it's light and effective. Then i just sweep the leaves into a bag.
So I'd say the choice there is the size of the job you need it for.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Hover type are a lot easier to use as you can just stand and move them left to right etc. wheeled models like to be pushed /pulled in a straight line but both do a great job . I have just bought a wheeled Bosch to replace a hover flymo and it does a great job but miss being able to do tight areas with the nimble flymo .0

With garden vacuum, I was after the cheap arg@s one as it goes half price every so often, told hubby, and he went and bought one from b n q , it’s a Bosch, does both suck and blowing. Unfortunately for me being a weakling I find it too heavy/unwieldy. It does chew up the leaves though so you can empty the bag into compost heap or put in a black bag till it composts to leaf mulch.Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.0
