Cr due MOT. The boot can be tricky at times to open with a key. If when going in and the boot fails to open is this a fail or a minor?

Didn't think it would be but here's link from Jonest John site explaining not a fail but possible might impact carrying out MOT.

Here's the actual tester's manual, straight from the horse's mouth.
https://www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-inspection-manual-for-private-passenger-and-light-commercial-vehicles
The nearest there is to anything relevant is this sentence in 6.2.3, Doors and Door Catches...
"Load space doors must be able to be secured in the closed position."
It's not a problem.1 -
- Rear Axle fractured (5.1.1 (a))
- Parking brake efficiency less than 50% of the required value (1.4.2 (a) (ii))
Repair immediately (major defects):
- Offside Rear Rear fog lamp does not emit a steady red light (4.5.4 (a))
- Rear Suspension component corroded and seriously weakened axle (5.3.3 (b) (i))
- Nearside Front Shock absorbers has a serious fluid leak (5.3.2 (b))
- Offside Rear Parking brake inoperative on one side (1.4.1 (a))
This sounds a nightmare more so the fractured Axle! This deadly? Waiting for them to phone just check MOT checker. Wonderding the cost for this as well.0 -

Wondering the cost for this as well.Depends on whether it is a Ferrari or a Ford KAThe rear axle beam rusts badly on a KA/Fiat 500 and a new one is around £150 with a couple of hours to fit.The rest of it is fairly cheap- new light lens or some red lens tape, front shock absorbers and probably new rear brake shoes or possibly a hand brake cable.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

They haven't flagged it as a "dangerous"...
What car is it?0 -
My moneys on it being a Fiat Punto but no idea on age. Given boot issue like Grand Punto. Given non working rear brake, smashed rear light and fractured rear axle has it had a major rear end impact.
You could probably get the entire rear axle and brakes from a breakers yard for around £100 then labour on top to have it fitted say £100. Whilst at the breakers yard give them another £5 for the rear light lens.
£100 to £150 to have the front shock replaced which will mainly be labour.0 -
I can order the parts myself if I want. It's fine to drive. Yet the axile fractured. I got my MOT done earliest I could.
Thought legally I can't drive this until dangerous sorted0 -
