Temperature on fridge

Not sure if this should strictly be posted in this section, but sure where else to put it.

I have just bought a new beko larder fridge, and noticed that it's not as cold as my old fridge.

I have measured the temp in the fridge, and on max temp, it varies from 8.4 degrees to 10.5 at the top, middle 3.5 to 3.9, bottom 2.6 to 0, salad drawer 4.2 to 4.4, and door 10.8 to 11.4.

Surely this can't be right?

It's not right. How long have you left it before checking the temperatures and how accurate is your thermometer?

Ideally a fridge temp should not go above 5C. It's quite a big difference between the middle and top shelves you have there.

Hi, left it a few hours before checking the temperature.

There is ice at the back of the fridge, that's what I can't work out!

Someone else posted the same problem a couple of months back; wonder if it's a common problem

Get yourself one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Elitech-Temperature-Recorder-Readings-RC-5/dp/B07HMPJCW2/ref=sr_1_8 , place it on the top shelf and leave it for 24 hrs, then check the data.

A few hours isn't really long enough for a new fridge to get down to the correct, consistent temperature and the fact that ice is appearing would suggest you've got it set too high (or low in fridge terms). Set the dial to midway, usually 3 if it goes from 1 to 5, leave it overnight and check the temps. Again, what sort of thermometer are you using?
  • Have one of their integrated larder fridges, installed a few weeks ago. After leaving it settle before initial switching on,it took a day to reach 5°C on centre shelf with the thermostat at number 3 and a half.

Yes there was an iceberg developing on the back panel but that came away while touching it, so removed all the softer ice by hand.

Its been absolutely no problem (just checked the temperature with my trusted thermometers, still 5°C)  food & drinks all keeping very well. Very quiet fridge with a nice light

    A day?  Sounds a wee bit marginal . .

Icebergs after just a few weeks? I'd be calling the manufacturer to voice my concern.

Ice build up was on initial installation is expected as per literature supplied ,  there is a reason why but its a well known low level issue in that trade.

Also have a (edit) new freestanding beko larder fridge just for extra capacity during current sporting events and its excellent.
Could say more why some have user issues  :(
