We've done a few of these. Being older, with no kids at home, we can pick weeks when there's no extra charge for entertainment passes and/or gas & electricity. We usually upgrade the caravan instead and pay for the beds to be made up. We can still get a 4 night break for less than £100 for both of us, plus we tend to go off park to explore the area. I can see that if you need the passes etc it will work out dearer but if you don't want to pay park prices for food, make a trip to the local supermarket and a) cook for a night or two and b) stock up on stuff for breakfast, lunches and snacks. Where we go, the chippy on site charges around 50% more than one just outside, that gives much bigger portions too. Pick your dates as best you can, and don't rely on the park for everything, would be my advice.
