theclaimsguys?

Put in a PPI request to these guys before the deadline in August 2019 and never really heard much back from them. I've just noticed on their website that they are no longer continuing the claims, and have contacted all their "clients" at the end of June 2021. I've not heard anything, and I don't know how to take the PPI claim further.
Obviously, they have been using COVID-19 as their excuse, but the last email from them in September last year stated that they had submitted a Data Subject Access Request before the deadline so if any PPI was found, then they could still submit a PPI Claim.
Now that they have left anyone like myself in the lurch, what is my best course of action... do I have to start from scratch and mention that the initial DSAR was submitted by the claimsguys before the deadline, or will the lender just laugh it all off??

Contact the lender.  If the claims company actually bothered to do anything, you can pick it up from there.

But be prepared for them not having forwarded on your complaint. If so, you're out of luck.

You will need to contact the lender and ask them the status of your complaint.   However, be prepared to be told that they have no record of your complaint.

If your complaint was submitted and accepted by the lender they would have sent you confirmation of the complaint within a week of it being made.  It would explain the process and give you details of the FOS.    Did you get anything like that?

Whilst some banks did treat their PPI checker as sufficient to qualify if you checked before the deadline, this did not necessarily apply to DSARs as a DSAR does not have a specific subject/target objective and wouldn't necessarily have been lodged as a PPI check.
