Asking for a friend who paid £95 for a day 2 test for her daughter who arrived in the UK a couple of weeks ago from a green list country. It was a bit of a last minute thing so she selected the first company on the list on the government website, Expert Doctors UK. The test reference was needed for the passenger locator form. The test never arrived. On chasing it up, an email was received saying the test would arrive but they were really busy. Two weeks later, still no test, emailing now receives no response. If it arrives it’s useless now anyway, it’s way too late. Has she been scammed? Anyone else dealt with this company? How might she get her money back?

    How did she pay.
    Ask for a refund.
if not forthcoming do a chargeback with debit/credit card provider.

Problems with test providers on the Government website can be reported to 119- they will investigate and remove from Government approved list if found not to be meeting the Government requirements for test providers . Did she inform the T&T people ?
  • My friend paid £250 for tests and received no results.
She tired every avenue to get her money back and have them removed but they are still listed.
    On the government website:
"The government does not endorse, recommend or approve any private test provider. Individuals and employers should conduct their own research about available providers and the testing services they supply. For information about customer service, please check consumer review websites."
    In other words, check Tripadvisor.
Martin, please, warn your readers that there are scammers on the gov list.

119 send you a free test if Day 2’s don’t arrive. Did you inform T&T?

Thanks all! Not sure if T&T were informed. A refund has been requested and acknowledged by their automated help desk though so there is a paper trail. Perhaps chasing that up and then reverting to the chargeback route if no response sounds a good plan.
  • I meant to say Check Trustpilot and Google reviews.
