Starplan - Fitted Wardrobes

Hi. 

We recently had some wardrobes fitted from Starplan; they have the worst Customer Service on the planet. The wardrobes cost us £6300 and had replaced our previous wardrobes that had been in for over a decade. I ripped out the existing wardrobes ready for the new wardrobes to be fitted. Starplan rep came out and measured up. What Starplan hadn’t done is taken into account was our coving, so we are now left with a huge unsightly gap between the top of the wardrobe and coving- see pictures. We never received a new plan as we had changed our plans twice and Starplan are now refusing to give us a contract which they can’t find on their system. 

we’ve been in touch with the ombudsman who have managed to get us 5% of the total sale back; which is the most they’ve managed to get back.

Is it worth taking it further? legal action maybe ?

Is it possible to take it any further than the ombudsman? I thought they had the final word unless you go down the route of the small claims court

Isn't £315 enough for a fix?

I'd bring down a piece of MDF and paint it the same colour as the ceiling.  With some careful decorating and filling, it will look like it was supposed be that way.  

I've done it in a £50k kitchen, so it's not exactly a bodge!

OP if your wish was to warn us against Starplan I am minded to heed your warning. Tbf the quote for £6.5k would have been red flag enough for me.
