Hey all, I'm going to take the theory test soon and I want to save money on buying the DVSA theory test kit. What are the differences between different versions of the test kit, or are they exactly the same in terms of content? Do I need the newest version (2021), or is it fine to buy an older version like 2015?

Highly appreciated if anyone can give me advice. I hope to pass the test first time :)

I bought my daughter the book she never read it and did it all online, mainly phone apps.  Passed it 5 days after her birthday.

The official/latest DVSA Theory test & Hazard perception kit is £15 or £20 or £30 for 30 or 90 or 365 days online subscription.

On the face of it, for that price, it hardly  seems worthwhile bothering with any  geriatric versions. You wish to pass first time so give yourself the best chance.

However, I’ve absolutely no idea how the Theory test has changed over the last few years,...if at all.

James May has put his name (and maybe his many talents) to an app that's apparently producing good results in terms of getting through the theory test. As per most apps of this nature it's free with a paid upgrade to get the most out of it. You'll note that it uses the same question bank that the official test does.

Thanks all for your suggestions! It seems the online kit is useful. Any ideas what's the difference between PC and phone versions? If it's the same I'll probably get the phone app for £4.99.
