Hi all,
Does anyone know if Avro Energy are still trading? I have closed my account with them recently as I joined another Gas & Electricity supplier. Avro owe me money however, they are not responding to any emails and do not provide a contact number for me to call. If anyone can shed any light or even a contact number I would be grateful!
Many thanks in advance!

If you have moved to another supplier from Avro you do not need to do anything in order to get back any money owing to you. Once your opening meter readings that you have supplied to your new provider have been validated then Avro will provide you with a final bill based on those readings and will credit you back with any monies owing via your bank account.0

Avro used to be very good, but sadly now they seem to be in meltdown.See the main Avro thread and listen to the report on Radio 4's You and Yours (starts at 32:34).You should get your final bill within six weeks and your refund within a further two weeks, otherwise compo is due.1

Glad to see this thread. I'm still waiting for Avro to send me a final bill, having transferred to another provide on the 7th of June. My direct debits are still going out to them.

If you are in credit with them then cancel you DDorange-juice said:Glad to see this thread. I'm still waiting for Avro to send me a final bill, having transferred to another provide on the 7th of June. My direct debits are still going out to them.1 -
The difficulty with cancelling the DD is that you thereby cut off the mechanism for them to refund you any credit balance.1

Not so - a direct debit has nothing to do with refunds - I've cancelled DDs at the end of contracts and still received overpayments back into my bank account.jbuchanangb said:The difficulty with cancelling the DD is that you thereby cut off the mechanism for them to refund you any credit balance.2 -
I moved home on 19th June emailed avro on 20th June with final readings still no final bill as of today, now 18 working days since I emailed final readings they took a DD after I had given final readings and am in credit, no answers to emails, phone number is 0330 058 2005 have to wait nearly an hour before the customer services answer the call, was told an email would be sent by the end of day (last Wednesday) no email no final bill, emailed a complaint am waiting for a reply. Not happy.0

A really useful listen, thank you.Gerry1 said:Avro used to be very good, but sadly now they seem to be in meltdown.See the main Avro thread and listen to the report on Radio 4's You and Yours (starts at 32:34).You should get your final bill within six weeks and your refund within a further two weeks, otherwise compo is due.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.1 -
As said you can cancel the DD but the supplier still has your details on file to refund any credit, what they cannot do is reopen the DD once it's cancelled as this would be a breech of contract I did this with OFTM and Bulb, as I had heard OFTM reopened DD's I emailed them after cancelling the DD and told them that any reopening of the DD would result in court action without further notification to the company, they didn't reopen it but it took me 8 months and £70 compensation to get back the £5.76 in the account at the time of closing it.brewerdave said:
