The family home may well be worth £800,000 but we are talking London prices.
If she received £66,000 from the sale of the former family home after the break up of her first marriage and saved £30,000 in 18 months while living at home with Mum and Dad and then selling TWO BTL,s with £130,000 profit she could afford to clear the £225,000 mortgage outstanding on her Boyfriend,s property.
    Well done to her.
It's the little things ! NO spend days, Using vouchers, taking food and drinks to feed yourself and the kids. Picnic time !
Even £5 each day on a coffee soon adds up

Yes, so the true story is she paid off a 225k mortgage. She managed this by living rent free for a good period, and getting her dad to go halves on two BTL rental deposits which increased in value before they were sold. It's not really a truthful story. I'm way more inspired by our own mortgage free wannabes.

She had a boyfriend - so it was shared.

Her father went halves on the deposit.

    Also had rent money.

    So not alone then.

Its a bit like the 'haven't they done well' DIY for incredibly small sums of money makeover articles you see, the properties tend to look obviously 'make do' or obviously done by a professional (in one article the homeowner said it was done by a contractor).  There's just no way on earth the financials add up.
  • I can't find a positive lifestyle in that article at all.

Right wingers peddle this sort of nonsense endlessly
While Metro is owned by the publishers of the Daily Mail (who also own the i and New Scientist), it doesn't have a political stance, and has never supported any candidate or party...

Farage refused to be interviewed by them in 2015, they carried paid cover-wrap adverts for both sides in the referendum...

Their journalistic standards may be abysmal, but they aren't politically biased...

Anybody with the most basic numeracy skills can tell that repaying an £800k mortgage on a £25k salary is simply not going to happen...

All you need to know is...
    £800k = 40yrs x £20k.
