Property Management imposed charges without advance agreement
I’m living in a RTM Leasehold flat. My TV reception was not great i lost channels occasionally & pixilation but didn’t pay much attention to it until few months back the property management got it fixed on TV satellite. I raised the issue/ ticket to the property management as there was another flat has the same problem on pixilation posted in the community social media. The engineer came found out the cable was connected to a wrong socket & also retune the channels. The property management came back & said I have to pay for the call out charge £67 since it is not a communal issue. I refused to accept that as no one tell me beforehand I have to pay for it or even agreed on the prices if found out it is not a communal issue. I felt like this is an unfair terms that I forced to accept by the property management. Now the management claimed that it is a standard call out charge & asked to provide a comparative quote for them to discuss with the contractor. Pursuant to consumer right I do not think this is right to charge me. What should I do with the management? Many thanks.

Read your terms and conditions etc in regard to TV services etc .

Pay
You falsely reported a faulty aerial.
Engineer called out
It wasn't faulty
£67 sounds extremely fair

If it was a problem with your own connection (rather than a general problem with the communal system) then up to you to sort out and pay for it.0

Sounds like the OP raised a fault ticket for someone else's property? (No idea why - sense of community?)
On that basis, as the effort was not for the OP's benefit, is the OP still liable for the charge?Jenni x0 -
Did the fault effect all residents or just you?New_home_buyer said:I’m living in a RTM Leasehold flat. Not sure about other flats, but it was mine & another flat probably just me reported the issue.born_again said:
