Its really down to what the manufactures instructions says
For reasons of safety and warranty.
Some say brass compression fittings only, some say push fit can be used But only fittings which are demountable without specialist tools.
Have seen and heard about pushfit fittings pushing off the shower inlet stem, wet wet wet :'( Plumbing systems vary and the installer needs to use the appropriate fittings.
